Progressive lenses give you clear vision at every distance — far at the top, computer distance in the middle, reading at the bottom — with no visible line. If you already have a frame you like, you can usually get progressive lenses fitted into it, whether you’re replacing old progressives or switching from bifocals or reading glasses.
Is your frame suitable for progressives?
Three things matter:
- Lens height: the reading zone sits at the bottom, so the frame needs enough depth. As a rough guide, around 28 mm or more from the bottom of the lens to your pupil works for most designs.
- Frame condition: progressives are precisely centred, so the frame must sit straight and not wobble.
- Fit on your face: the frame should sit at a consistent height on your nose. Slipping frames move the zones out of place.
Very slim, narrow frames may not leave room for a comfortable reading area. We check this before cutting and will tell you if your frame isn’t a good match.
Progressive vs bifocal: which to choose?
| Bifocal | Progressive | |
|---|---|---|
| Zones | Far + near | Far + middle + near |
| Visible line | Yes | No |
| Computer distance | Not covered | Covered |
| Viszy price (both lenses) | from ₹1,800 | ₹2,800 – ₹4,500 |

Why progressive prices vary
The difference between an entry and premium progressive is mostly the width of the clear “corridor” between distance and reading. Wider corridors are easier to adapt to and give a larger reading area — worth it for first-time wearers and all-day use. Our range goes from Glide Everyday (₹2,800) to Glide Screen with blue-cut (₹3,500) and Glide Wide (₹4,500), our easiest to adapt to.
What we need from you
- Your current prescription, including the ADD (reading addition) value.
- Your frame — we pick it up from home.
- Ideally, a clear photo of you wearing the frame, looking straight ahead. It helps us place the zones at the right height.
Tips for adapting to new progressives
- Wear them full-time for the first week; switching back and forth slows adaptation.
- Point your nose at what you want to see, rather than moving only your eyes.
- For reading, lower your eyes, not your head.
- Take stairs slowly for the first few days.
Most people feel comfortable within one to two weeks. If something still feels off after that, message us — it’s often a small fitting adjustment.
